- Core Function:
A well control device used to seal the annular space at the wellhead during drilling, workover, and other operations. It can seal the annular gap between tools of different shapes and sizes, such as drill pipe, casing, and cables, and the wellhead, and can also completely seal the wellhead in emergencies.
- Key Structures:
Packing Unit/Rubber Element: The core sealing element, typically made of high-strength, oil-resistant, and high-temperature-resistant rubber, usually conical or spherical in shape.
Piston: Located below or around the locking unit, hydraulically driven.
Hydraulic Chamber: Contains hydraulic oil, driving the piston.
Support Ring: Restricts the upward movement of the locking unit and provides support.
Body/Bonnet: The main structural component, subjected to high pressure.
